our story

Meet Archana Verma

Our mother, and the multi-talented artist at the heart of everything here. Kala Archana simply wouldn't exist without her — every painting, journal and little handmade thing begins with her.

For years, Archana poured her heart into her art quietly, while raising the two of us. She gave us her time, her patience and her belief — and somewhere along the way she made us independent, able to stand on our own feet and chase our own dreams.

Painting, journaling, a dozen little crafts — she has that rare gift of making beautiful things out of ordinary moments, and she's been doing it, unhurried, for as long as we can remember.

Now it's her turn. After a lifetime of giving, she finally gets to see her art travel out into the world and find people who'll cherish it — and that, really, is the whole reason this little studio exists.

Everything here is made slowly, in small batches, often one at a time — so many pieces are truly one of a kind. When something sells, it's really gone, and something new takes its place.

We love you, Mumma.

This was made slowly. And now we get to slow down too.
